Over several years, I organized and led a series of capacity-building workshops across the MENA region, targeting young women and men interested in entering the field of digital media. These workshops spanned countries such as Jordan, Egypt, Oman, Iraq, Lebanon, KSA, and many others were conducted remotely. Each session was thoughtfully tailored to cater to the varied interests and foundational skill levels of the attendees, ensuring relevant and accessible learning experiences.
For instance, a detailed agenda from one of my one week workshops in September 2019 shows a robust curriculum covering essential topics like graphic design, video production, and smartphone photography. I leveraged top-tier tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud to provide an introduction to professional-standard creative technologies and techniques. The workshop format combined theoretical overviews with hands-on exercises in the field, including creating infographics, producing short videos from the captured footage, and designing social media posts aimed to engage and inform.
A vital aspect of these workshops was the involvement of local talents from each participating country, which helped to create a dynamic pool of resources and fostered a spirit of collaboration among the participants. During practical sessions, participants worked in teams to create comprehensive multimedia packages, enhancing their practical skills in real-world settings while promoting teamwork and project management capabilities.
These workshops were fundamental in building capacity among young enthusiasts in the region, equipping them with the skills needed to navigate and succeed in the digital media landscape. By nurturing these talents, I have contributed to a growing network of skilled individuals poised to enrich their local and regional media scenes with high-quality digital content.
